This singer songwriter has a great sound. The music is robust & has you feeling like you already know the songs, but of course you do, it’s a cover album. The songs merge well with each other. She does a nice cover of America’s “Sister Golden Hair”. While I’m not always a fan of cover songs, this one stays true to the original with a beautiful female voice, instead of America’s male vocals. Of course, all songs on this album were cover songs, some of which, I had never heard before. “Hard To Be” is a really strong song on this album, as is “The Weakest Shade Of Blue”. “Pink Rabbits” was also another one that stood out to me. The weakest song on the album would probably be “Bizarre Love Triangle”. This song didn’t fit into the rest of the vibe of this album for me. Vanessa Peters has a likeness to Carly Simon. Vanessa is helped along by Chris Holt (Don Henley), the band Clifffs, & producer Rip Rowan. I give this 4 out of 5 Music Guru stars. I may have to try out the originals of the songs that I didn’t know & see what I feel about them as well.
