Black Oak Arkansas ~ Underdog Heroes

After more than 30 years, Black Oak Arkansas is back. There is good & bad in this. I’ve never been a fan of Jim “Dandy” Mangrum. His vocals never did it for me. The good, however, is the music is still great. Better than ever. The song writing team of Jim “Dandy” Mangrum & Rickie Lee Reynolds still holds true to form. New female vocalist Sammy B. Seauphine (“Lil Bit”) made some of the songs really soar. This is the original FUN Rock & Roll band, although, there are only 2 original members on this album. The new members of this band really hold up. This is what they were. This is what they still are. This may rate up with my favorite BOA album of the past, which was “Rated X”. I give this 4 out of 5 Music Guru stars.
