If I haven’t told you before, I’ll tell you now, I’m NOT a KISS fan. However, this album DOES have some very good moments. One of those is the song “Love Gun” done by TOMMY SHAW (Styx), Steve Lukather (Toto), Tim Bogert (Vanilla Fudge), Jay Schellen (Current Yes) to bring a new life into a song that I don’t normally like. This version, I LIKE! Another one that changed my mind about what could be really good KISS music is “I Want You” done by Kip Winger (Winger), Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big), Gregg Bissonette (David Lee Roth, Joe Satriani) bring this song into it’s own merit. Most of the other songs still keep that KISS sound that I’m not a fan of. There is one more that took me by surprise, and that was “Detroit Rock City” by Dee Snider (Twisted Sister), Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake), Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy), John Tempesta (Cult, White Zombie), make this song, which doesn’t move much from the original, & give it some life. The musicians on this album are all top notch musicians & make this album sound sweet. For a KISS fan, you’re going to love this album. For a non KISS fan, I’d give it 3.5 Music Guru Stars, for the appreciation of the musicians doing a great job. Other musicians include Robben Ford, Mark Slaughter, Bruce Kulick, Carmine Appice, Mike Porcaro, Bob Kulick, Lemmy Kilmeister, C.C. Deville, Aynsley Dunbar, Vinnie Colaiuta & many others. Get this, see what you think.
