Jules Shear ~ One More Crooked Dance

Jules Shear

You may or may not know Jules Shear, but you do know of him. He was the Jules of Jules & The Polar Bears, he’s also written songs for Tommy Conwell & The Young Rumblers (If We Never Meet Again), The Bangles (If She Knew What She Wants) & Cyndi Lauper (All Through The Night). He was also the host & co-creator of MTV Unplugged. That may be why this album is so different from his guitar, bass, & drums music. This is Jules Shear unplugged. Jules on vocals & some friends, Pepe on piano, Molly Farley on vocals, & John Sebastian on harmonica & together they give you this album full of songs about relationships, the battle of the sexes, & even a song about self medication, just to name a few. My favorite, which seemed to stand out from the rest was “A Color That Barely Exists”. I would rate this 3.5 out of 5 Music Guru Stars. I like the music, the vocals of Jules Shear didn’t really work for me, but that could change with repeated listens.
