Alan Simon

This album is an album of 2 different kinds of music. On disc 1 you get the world music & also symphonic music of Alan Simon & friends. Disc 1 is very relaxed & could very well be used for movie soundtracks. It is all instrumental & done very well. Disc 2 adds many musicians & vocalists that seem to soar with the music that is presented to you. Included on disc 2 along with Alan, are Midnight Oil, Roger Hodgson, Jon Anderson, Fairp[ort Convention, Billy Preston, Jeremy Spencer, Justin Hayward, Les Holroyd, Mick Fleetwood, John Wetton, Martin Barre, & more. Songs that stood out to me were “Circle Of Life” featuring Jon Anderson, which sounded like a later YES song or a Jon Anderson solo song. Also, “On The Road” featuring Justin Hayward, the wonderful vocals stand out, as only Justin Hayward can do. The guitar work on “Lugh” really brought this song to my attention & while Martin Barre was doing his bit on the guitar, You had John Wetton doing what he does best on this song. I rate this album 4 out of 5 Music Guru Stars. Whether you want to chill out or rock out, you can do both with this compilation. All songs are written & produced by Alan Simon.
