Mipso ~ Coming Down The Mountain

Starting off with the sound of an angel, Libby Rodenbough, singer & fiddle player for this band really soars on every song that she sings on this album. There is 1 exception & that is when she sings duet with the male vocalist of the band. All singers sing well, but, Libby really soars on the opening & the final songs on this album. I didn’t realize that this was a country band, more like Country-rock, but, isn’t the current country music just plain rock music back in the early 70’s. Just my humble opinion. This album, reminds me of the love that I had when I first heard Pure Prairie League’s “Bustin’ Out” album. According to the credits on the album, they all sing & instruments include guitar, bass, mandolin & fiddle. I hear drums & I believe small amount of keys, but, no credits on those in the credit section. All in all, this is a great album. Definately give this a listen. Favorite songs are the title track, “Coming Down The Mountain” & “Water Runs Red”. The latter really standing out. I rate this 5 out 5 Music Guru Stars.
