Wish You Were Here – Symphonic Music of Pink Floyd

One of the few bands who could really pull this off would be Pink Floyd, or, the music of Pink Floyd. Taking tracks which could actually be done originally by an orchestra, this really works well. Most of this was done originally by keyboards which just goes to show you just how well Richard Wright really put into his craft in Pink Floyd. Included are 5 tracks, 3 of which are longer Pink Floyd tracks. Tracks are “Have A Cigar”, “”Wish You Were Here, Shine On You Crazy Diamond” melded in 2 parts just as originally intended from Pink Floyd, “Welcome To The Machine” & a snippet of “Eclipse”. The orchestra did a really great job, there are 2 tracks with vocals. I didn’t care for the vocals so much on “Welcome To The Machine”, but, the orchestra certainly made up for it. For “Wish You Were Here”, the guitar was right on, and the vocals were right on this song as well. This gets 4 out of 5 Music Guru Stars due to the vocals that I didn’t care for, otherwise a 5 star review. The album also features Alice Cooper & Rick Wakeman.
