The last WHO TOUR??? After seeing this one, I hope not, but, this was probably my 2nd favorite Who show that I’ve seen, and I’ve seen a lot. All of them in the Philadelphia area since 1975. I would’ve preferred some of the b-sides besides “Bargain”, which I was glad to hear. Most of the tracks that they played were your favorite WHO hits, they did play “The Rock” from “Quadrophenia” which definitely was not a hit, but, they played it magnificently. Here is a list of what they played…

Who Are You, The Seeker, The Kids Are Alright, I Can See For Miles, My Generation, The Real Me, Pictures Of Lily, Behind Blue Eyes, Bargain, Join Together, You Better You Bet, I’m One (Another B-side), The Rock, Love Reign O’er Me, Eminence Front, Amazing Journey/Sparks/Captain Walker medley from “Tommy”, Pinball Wizard going into See Me Feel Me, Listening To You, Baba O’Riley & of course, Won’t Get Fooled Again.

There was no encore, but, I know Roger Daltrey was having some problems earlier in the tour, with his voice, but, this night, he was right on. During Love Reign O’er Me, at the end, he showed you just how low he could go with his vocal range & that big Giant scream during Won’t Get Fooled again was right on key. In addition to Roger Daltrey & Pete Townshend, played a great group of musicians to help this tour along. We had Simon Townshend on guitars and vocals, Pino Paladino on bass, John Corey on keyboards and backing vocals, Frank Simes on Keyboards, banjo, squeezebox, & more, also, the musical director for this tour. Loren Gold on Keyboards and backing vocals, and of course, Zak Starkey on drums. Zak Starkey actually learned from Keith Moon, as Ringo & Keith were good friends. I did get to see both Keith Moon & John Entwistle, which was my favorite Who show back in 1975, but this show really was perfect. If this is the last of the Who shows, they’re going out with a bang. Thank you Pete & Roger along with the rest of the crew for almost 50 of my years of listening to the Who.

5 out of 5 Music Guru Stars. See this show if you can.
