Michael Stanley – 2 new releases

Michael_Stanley_And_Then_Cover  Michael_Stanley_Compact 1

I’ve got to tell you, I’ve never listened to Michael Stanley before, but, I will NOW. After listening to these 2 discs I have a new respect for this fine singer/songwriter/musician. Let me start off with the fact that he wrote one of my favorite Joe Walsh songs “Rosewood Bitters” which he plays on the “Compact Michael Stanley” album. He also wrote everything on this compilation except 2 songs. He covers “Dead Flowers” by the Rolling Stones, also “Downstream” written by B. Walkenhorst, which was on his “Eighteen Down” album put out in 2000. Then comes the 2015 release titled “And Then…”, which again, were all written by Michael Stanley except “Good Day For The Blues” which was written by David Grissom. The band on the newest release is…Tommy Dobeck (Drums), Bob Pelander (Piano & Organ), Danny Powers (Guitar), Marc Lee Shannon (Guitar, Mandolin, Vocals), Rodney Psyka (Percussion), Ed Caner (Violin, Viola), Jennifer Lee & Don Dixon (Vocals) as well as Michael Stanley (Guitar, Bass, Vocals). And Then…was also produced by Mike & mixed by Bill Szymczyk, who has done work with The Eagles, B.B. King, J.Geils Band, & Joe Walsh & more. These 2 albums get 5 out of 5 Music Guru Stars. Get Them NOW!
