ChicagoEWF_v2 Chicago Earth Winf & Fire

I’ve seen the band CHICAGO, very many times. This time, I did not go to see CHICAGO, but, the band who was opening for them. That was EARTH WIND & FIRE. I’ve never been a big fan of them, but, opening up new musical senses always seems to surprise me, which, in this case, didn’t let me down. Earth Wind & Fire came out with Chicago, and played together a few songs including “Beginnings”. They all left the stage, then EW&F came out by themselves & played about 40 – 45 minutes, including some of their hits. They left the stage, then Chicago came on & played their hits, except one track, which was not a hit…yet. Chicago played fine, but the vocals seemed a little off this night. I think Robert Lamm needed to sing a little more, & a little less Jason Scheff. I like his vocals on the newer Chicago tracks, but, his covers of Peter Cetera just weren’t there. The band was in fine form on their instruments however. They played songs like “Saturday In The Park”, “Liberation”, “Call On Me”, “Hard Habit To Break” & more. At the end of the show, Earth Wind & Fire came out with Chicago, for a spectacular ending mixing both groups songs including “September”, “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?”, “Sing A Song”, “Free”, “Sing A Song”, “Shining Star”, & “25 or 6 to 4”, as members of Earth Wind & Fire & Chicago really funked it up on stage & rocked the house. Go see this tour if their in your town!
