TOTO at the Keswick Theater, Glenside PA

Toto Toto 2

I’ve always wanted to see TOTO, but, somehow, this has always escaped me. This day finally came on Thursday, September 4, 2014, when TOTO came to the Keswick Theater in Glenside, PA. This is one of the best places to see a concert in the Philadelphia area. This show was great as everybody in the band was having a great time. Steve Lukather was clowning with the band, as the band chimed right back in. They played some of their hits like “Hold The Line” “Rosanna” “Africa” “Pamela” & “99” which they even explained the title of the song. Pretty humorous. They also played some of their non-hits, which I loved. They jammed out a lot as well with Steve Lukather doing most of the jamming, but, David Paich, & Steve Porcaro did their share as well. Unfortunately Mike Porcaro was not there, due to his illness (Please get well, Mike), but, we had original bassist David Hungate there in his place. Joseph Williams was the lead vocalist (along with Steve Lukather & David Paich), who sang on the albums “Fahrenheit” “The Seventh One” “XX” (2 unreleased songs) & “Falling In Between”. The Seventh One is one of my favorite albums, so this worked for me. On drums we had Keith Carlock, who played with Steely Dan, John Mayer, James Taylor, Sting and many more. This show gets 4 out of 5 stars as Toto only played for 1 1/2 hours. With all the music at their disposal, they easily could’ve played for 3 hours if the ordinences allowed. OK, I’ll give it 5 stars because I really loved it, but, I still would’ve liked to hear more TOTO.
