Transatlantic at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside PA. 2-14-2014

Do I really need to tell you what happens when you get 4 great artists together from different bands to make a Super-group? No, I don’t, but, that’s what TRANSATLANTIC is. You have ROINE STOLT from THE FLOWER KINGS, NEAL MORSE from (originally) SPOCK’S BEARD, but now solo,  MIKE PORTNOY (originally from DREAM THEATER), now with the winery dogs & touring with Neal solo, and Pete Trawavas from Marillion. Put them all together you get TRANSATLANTIC. There was a previous show without Pete Trawavas, where the Flower Kings played, then Neal played, followed up with Tranatlantic, where different members from the Flower Kings & the Neal Morse Band filled in. That show seemed a little more energetic than this one, but, the performances were still great & it was all Transatlantic. They play a lot of epic songs, which is great, especially for a progressive rock show. Some of the tracks that they played were “My New World”, “The Whirlwind” & more. Roine & Neal did a great solo together, then went into “We All Need Some Light”. They also played “Shining” & “Kaleidoscope”, from their new CD titled KALEIDOSCOPE. The encore was “ALL OF THE ABOVE”, which I needed to hear performed live…and TRANATLANTIC did not let me down. This was my first time seeing Pete, but Roine, Neal, & Mike always put on a great show. Any chance that you can see any of these guys play, I highly recommend it. The Keswick Theatre in Glenside, PA. is a great intimate place to see any band play. I rate the show & venue 5 Music Guru Stars.
